Unfortunately, life doesn’t come with a manual. When you need short-term help with work, home, personal, or family issues, the EAP, through Prudential/ComPsych, offers value-added programs and services at no charge.

You and your household family members can access this confidential service for FREE to help with many life challenges, including:

    • Stress, depression, and anxiety
    • Relationship issues and divorce
    • Anger, grief, and loss
    • Job stress and work conflicts
    • Family and parenting problems
    • Financial counseling
    • Legal matters
    • And more

These services can help you overcome challenges while saving you time and money. The EAP gives you access to:

    • Up to 3 face-to-face sessions per incident per year
    • Child care and elder care support
    • Financial, legal, and identity theft resources
    • And more!

Worldwide Travel Assistance

BCBS members can access healthcare services while traveling or living abroad through the Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Core program.

Before You Travel

    • Carry your current BCBS member ID card.
    • Contact your BCBS company to confirm your international coverage specifics.
    • Ask your BCBS company about any required precertification or preauthorization.

Finding Care Abroad

    • Call the Global Core Service Center for help locating doctors or hospitals:
      • 1.800.810.2583 (toll-free)
      • 1.804.673.1177 (collect)
      • Available 24/7
    • Coordinators can arrange appointments or hospital stays if needed.

Inpatient Care

    • If arranged through the Service Center, direct billing is usually available.
    • You typically pay only standard out-of-pocket costs (copay, deductible, etc.).
    • Hospitals usually file the claim for you.

Outpatient or Non-arranged Care

    • You may need to pay upfront.
    • Submit an International Claim Form with your receipts:
      • Available via your BCBS company or www.bcbsglobalcore.com
      • Can be submitted online or through the Global Core mobile app

In an Emergency

    • Go directly to the nearest hospital.
